Homework

Homework Grid - Room 22                                 Week 8/Term 4        28th Nov - 2nd Dec  2016
*We strongly encourage your child to complete the activities listed during the week to help with their school learning.
Parents, thanks for your support here!  There will be opportunities during the week to share home learning with the class and teacher.

Read a range of books (fiction/non-fiction) and be read to by a family member.  Reading could include:  Library books, school readers, journals, plays, poetry, chapter books, magazines, comics, pamphlets, recipes, newspapers, fiction & non fiction, etc.

Bring a book to school that you are reading. You can read it during silent reading time each day!

Our focus for Literacy is on Poetry writing.  Find some poems that you can read and memorise to share with the class.  Create your own poems too!
OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS!
Thank you to everyone who has been returning their library books regularly.  No new books will be issued if you have overdue books.

SWIMMING
We will be going to the swimming pool this Wednesday, as a class.  If you are keen, bring your togs!

CULTURAL FESTIVAL
Thursday 1st December.  Groups will be sharing between 5.30pm - 6.30pm.  Bring a picnic/drinks to share with your family and friends afterwards!
  • Learn a new skill that you can tell us about at school (e.g. music, dance, drama, sport, art or cooking, baking, skiing, swimming, making new friends…).
  • Practise your typing skills on ‘Typing Club’.
  • Make sure you have completed all writing that you have started on your Blog.  Please don’t leave these unfinished!
  • Keep checking out our Room 22 blog, as new things will be added (especially in the REMINDERS section)!  Look at the activities on the learning website page of our class blog.  Try some out!  Add any homework you do to your Google Drive.  Go to the ‘Homework’ folder, then create a new document.
This week in Maths we will continue exploring Measurement.  Try out some measurement activities at home too and bring in your findings to share with us (money, time, mass, height, temperature, volume and capacity, etc.).

Make sure you practise your number knowledge (addition and subtraction, doubles and halves  and counting forwards & backwards in 2’s, 3’s, 5’s and 10’s, numbers before/after, fractions and place value).  Try doing this up to 1000!  We will continue to focus on learning our  2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8’s and 10 times tables.
CORBAN ESTATE ART CENTRE TRIP!

Have you..?

  • Been working on your spelling at home and bringing your Spelling Notebook to school each day.
  • Done at least one kind and helpful thing for your family every day without being asked (e.g. washing dishes, vacuuming, feeding your pet, giving someone a hug, etc.).  Remember to smile while you help!
